In this DVD, Dr. Ross explains a proposed new science and medicine that is described in his 2009 book, Human Energy Fields. According to Dr. Ross' theory, the human aura, chi energy, the human spirit and the life force are all traditional, subjective terms for the electromagnetic (EM) field of the body. Just as we measure brainwaves in an EEG or the electrical field of the heart in an EKG, so too we could measure the EM field of the body as a whole in order to detect disease, track treatment and better understand health and elite performance in all areas of life. Dr. Ross proposes that a measurable EM signal emerges through the eyes and can be detected with a high-impedance electrode that makes no physical contact with the body. Dr. Ross has published a paper with data showing the characteristics of this signal in Hertz and microvolts. The "eyebeam," which Dr. Ross calls human ocular extramission in his technical writings, is the foundation of the sense of being stared at, according to the theory. In general, the theory of human energy fields proposes that EM signals between organisms have an ecological function – this is a new area of science based on a telecommunications model. Human beings are "biological cell phones" and transmit digitized EM information back and forth between each other, as do all plants and animals. This signal traffic plays a role in countless biological and ecological processes.
